1966 Canon Pellix
QL has an unusual "pellicle" semi-silvered mirror which splits the
light between the finder (30%) and the film (70%). The idea was
to eliminate mirror vibration (bounce, slap, etc.) as the mirror moves
out of the light path when the shutter is tripped. Another advantage is
no mirror black out, allowing the photographer to see the actual scene
the moment the picture is taken. A disadvantage is the lack of
brightness to both the finder and the film. Ah well, at least the f1.4
/ 50mm lens which came standard helped. The QL designation is for quick
loading. This Pellix set comes with additional lenses: the f3.5 / 28mm
wide angle an the f4 / 135mm Telephoto.
