| The FED derived its name from Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky's initials, the founder of the Soviet Secret Police. The FED was made in Kharkov, Ukraine at a Youth Rehabilitation Commune. FED was the first successful Leica copy first made in 1934, only two years after Leitz introduced the Leica II. |
