1936 - 48 Bantam Special  was designed by renowned Art Deco industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague. Argueably the prettiest camera design ever. The clam shell design utilized a machined aluminum die cast body with a black enamel finish. This early version (1936 - 40) has a german made Compur-Rapid shutter, although the camera was manufactured in Rochester, NY.  Later models (1941 - 48) had less reliable and slower (1/400th top speed) American made Supermatic shutters.
