1952 Leica If RD (Red Dial) is similar
to the Ic but with flash synch added under the shutter speed dial. The
term 'Red Dial' denotes the color of the engraving for the flash synch.
All RD models have the newer shutter speeds of 1/25, 1/50 and
1/75. The flash socket is placed on the vulcanite cover plate
which blanks off where the slow speed dial would be on a IIIf model.
Red dials on If's began with serial # 564201, making this camera the
tenth one made. This example has the standard Elmar lens.
