1956 Leica IIIg is the last of the III
series Leica screwmount models made. The Leica M3 was introduced in
1954 and production of the IIIg stopped in 1960. The IIIg is the
only screwmount model with automatic parallax correcting frame
finders for 50 and 90mm lenses. The fourth small square window in front
is for illumination of the bright line finders. The top plate is taller
than the IIIf to accomodate the finder. Flash synch is automatic with a
black arrow at 1/60th for electronic flash and a red arrow at 1/30 for
bulb. A film reminder dial is attached to the back of the camera and is
