1961 Leica M2 was introduced after the
M3 in 1957 and was supposed to be a less costly alternative to the M3.
The M2 has bright line frames for 35, 50 and 90mm lenses and as such
the camera became more popular than the M3 because of the more useful
35mm wide angle lens. The film counter is manually reset via dial under
the film wind lever. This example has mounted a Summaron f2.8 /
35mm lens.
