The photographs in this collection were taken over a 60 year period.  I used various cameras, some of which survive and I have now donated to my son's collection along with my enlargers and color processing paraphernalia.  Until I acquired the Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 scanner, the slides and negatives sat in a file cabinet, slowly fading away. The prints on my walls were also slowly fading.  In other words, the whole result of 60 years effort was beginning to vanish.  Now much is in digital form,  preserved, and can be reproduced for others to enjoy.
