This
particular
Leitz item seems to be a low
power binocular attachment from the 1920's or early 30's. It's nickel
plated and obviously attaches to some other apparatus. |

The 1927
Pearl Endoscope appears to be purpose built for
microscopic observations of pearls to (presumably) determine their
quality. The carbon arc lamp is an Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar lamp and the
entire Endoscope is built around it. The assumption is that Simon and
Rene Bloch built it and it was sold by J. Bouery-Veysseyre and P.
Chassaing. The Patent (brevet) for the endoscope seems to be held by
Chilovsky Perrin (if that is actually someone's name). Obviously
this was manufactured in or around Paris, France. I have
not found any references to this item on the net, and so, I know
nothing about it other than what can be inferred and from an email from
someone who wanted to buy it. (who told me it was a pearl endoscope) .
Any information would be greatly appreciated. |
